What should I expect from insurance companies?
The insurance company will usually contact you to attempt to take a recorded statement shortly after the injury. In many cases the statement is an opportunity for experienced insurance adjusters to paint you in a corner. Do not take on an insurance company alone.

Claim Petition
If your claim is wrongfully denied, we will file a Claim Petition to start a legal action against the insurance company. Your claim could include wage loss benefits, payments for doctor's bills, retraining benefits, payments for permanent injury, and death benefits.
Deposition
Usually, the insurance company will take your deposition. I will personally prepare you for the deposition so that you know what to expect and how to present your case in the best light.
Settlement Conference
Within six to nine months after the filing of the Claim Petition, the Court will order the parties to discuss settlement during the settlement conference.
Hearing
Most cases settle at that point, but some do not. If the case is not settled, a hearing will be held in front of a worker compensation judge. The hearing will occur within approximately one year of the filing of the Claim Petition.
Financial Hardship
In cases of financial hardship, the Court will expedite the process, and will order a hearing within three to four months of the filing of the Claim Petition.
